The Squale Sub-39 dive watch is inspired by the first model that Charles von Büren created in Neuchâtel, Switzerland with the Squale logo and is designed to pay homage to the first iconic models created by Squale over 60 years ago. It also symbolizes the profound bond of friendship between the two families who are behind Squale's history of success - the founding Von Büren family and the current driving force - the Maggi family. A watch case that was part of many famous dive-watches over the decades, as Squale also supplied these to other big and small Swiss brands. Squale's Sub-39 Black Arabic features a black dial and Arabic indices. It's the only watch in the collection to feature Arabic numerals as indices. This choice is dictated by a desire to replicate the 60s version of an iconic Squale dive watch. The watch is identical to its predecessor except for the watchcase's diameter (previously 34 mm and now 39 mm), the sapphire glass substituting the original mineral glass and the indices made with SuperLuminova instead of Tritium as in the original version.

This classic diver has a screw-in case back, and a polished 316L stainless steel case with dimesions of 39mm x 12mm. The short lug to lug dimension of 48.5mm as well as curved down lug ends ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. Despite the high water resistance rating of 300 meters the case has been kept to a slim 12.5mm thanks to the unique case construction.

This highly recognizable shape features a large signed screw-down crown at the 3 o´clock position which is easy to grip and screws in and out very smoothly. The hand-painted matte black dial with the distinctly designed large luminescent Arabic numerals of Superluminova that glow green in the dark provides excellent legibility in all lighting conditions.

The 120-click uni-directional bezel features a distinctive crystal glass insert with black inlay and white markings. Whilst the design of the scratch-resistant box shaped sapphire crystal also remains true to the original characteristics of the plexiglass used back in the 60's. The sapphire crystal is also enhanced with anti-reflective treatment and protects this timepiece up to 300 meters below sea-level or 30 atmosphere of pressure.

The Squale Sub-39 Black Arabic is powered by a Swiss made Sellita SW 200 automatic movement which provides mechanical reliability and accuracy under the toughest circumstances. It has a quickset date funcion and displays the date at the 3 o'clock position.

A distinctive and comfortable black leather strap with signed pin buckle is supplied with the Sub-39 Black Arabic.
